Senior Java Engineer | Kafka, Kubernetes, Microservices
£625–£650/day Inside IR35 | 6 Months | London / Hybrid | Immediate Start
We’re hiring experienced Java Engineers for a major technology programme with one of the UK’s leading broadcast and media organisations. You’ll join a high-performing engineering team building and scaling event-driven, cloud-native services, working with modern technologies including Java, Kafka, Kubernetes and Docker.
The Role
You’ll be hands-on across the full development lifecycle, designing, building and testing scalable microservices that support high-volume, business-critical platforms.

Alongside development, you’ll work closely with other engineers on technical design and best practice, contribute to engineering standards, and have the opportunity to mentor more junior members of the team.
Contract Details
- Rate: £625–£650/day Inside IR35
- Duration: Initial 6 months
- Location: London – Hybrid
- Start: ASAP / immediate starters preferred
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with:
- Java and modern backend development
- Kafka – commercial experience is essential
- Kubernetes & Docker
- Microservices and event-driven architecture
- RESTful APIs
- TDD / BDD and automated testing
- Jenkins, Maven and/or Gradle
- Prometheus & Grafana
- Agile engineering environments such as Scrum or XP
