Senior KDB+ Developer – Fixed Income / Algorithmic Trading

📍 London, UK

We are looking for a Senior KDB+ Developer to join a Fixed Income Algorithmic Trading IT team in London.

You will work in a Front Office environment, closely with traders and IT teams, on solutions supporting pricing, trading, hedging and risk management algorithms for Fixed Income products. The role sits within a small KDB+ development team with short delivery cycles and direct interaction with the trading desk.

Your responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and deliver KDB+ applications and real-time processes supporting Algo Trading.
  • Work directly with traders to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Design APIs and data schemas for trading applications.
  • Develop and maintain KDB+ data and streaming solutions.
  • Perform statistical analysis of algorithm performance, market data and client behaviour.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and deployment of new or modified trading algorithms.
  • Develop compliance monitoring tools.
  • Design dashboards using Altair Panopticon.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers and 3rd-line support to Production Support teams.
  • Participate when required in software releases outside standard working hours.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Q / KDB+
  • Experience with real-time / low-latency systems
  • Strong Linux / UNIX knowledge
  • Experience with performance monitoring
  • Previous experience in a Front Office-facing environment
  • Understanding of software delivery processes and test strategies
  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering
  • Strong communication and analytical/problem-solving skills
