Senior Knowledge Manager - Law - Liverpool, Manchester or Leeds

A leading independent law firm is seeking a Senior Knowledge Manager to lead the development of a modern, firm-wide knowledge management capability.

This is a great opportunity to join a highly regarded law firm at a pivotal stage in its knowledge management journey. The role works closely with senior stakeholders across the firm and will play a key role in shaping how legal knowledge is captured, shared and reused, helping to drive greater consistency, efficiency and innovation across legal teams.

The firm is looking for an experienced knowledge professional who offers strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to delivery. This role offers the chance to influence the direction of knowledge management, establish new frameworks and processes, and work alongside colleagues in technology, data and innovation to maximise the value of the firm's collective expertise.

The role can be based out of Liverpool, Manchester or Leeds and offers a hybrid working policy with a high degree of flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the firm's knowledge management strategy and roadmap
  • Developing a trusted knowledge and precedents framework
  • Embedding knowledge sharing into legal workflows
  • Supporting and developing Knowledge Lawyer resources
  • Establishing governance and content management standards
  • Working closely with technology, data and AI teams
  • Driving adoption and measuring the impact of KM initiatives
  • Championing best practice across the business

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience in a senior knowledge management, PSL or similar role
  • A background within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience building or developing KM functions and initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of legal knowledge management and governance
  • Familiarity with knowledge repositories, document management and search tools
  • A deep understanding of the current KM landscape including opportunities to leverage technology/AI
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • A strategic mindset combined with hands-on delivery capability
