Senior Kotlin Developer
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite)
Salary: £57,500 - £72,000 + Benefits
We're working with a leading digital consultancy that delivers complex software solutions for large-scale organisations across the UK. Due to continued growth and a significant pipeline of projects, we're looking to recruit experienced Senior Kotlin Developers to join a highly collaborative engineering team.
This is an opportunity to work on modern, cloud-native applications, solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality software that makes a real impact.
The Role
As a Senior Kotlin Developer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems within agile, multidisciplinary teams.
You will:
- Develop high-quality backend applications using Kotlin
- Design and build scalable, cloud-native solutions within AWS
- Work closely with engineers, architects, product managers and delivery teams
- Champion engineering best practices, testing, and code quality
- Contribute to technical discussions and solution design
- Support and mentor other developers within the team

Requirements
We're looking for candidates with:
- Strong commercial experience developing software using Kotlin
- Proven backend/software engineering experience (non-mobile)
- Hands-on commercial experience working with AWS (essential)
- Experience building scalable, resilient applications and services
- A solid understanding of modern software engineering principles and practices
- Experience working in agile delivery environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Experience working within a consultancy environment
- Experience delivering projects within the public sector
- Exposure to modern frontend technologies
