About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Kotlin & TypeScript Developer to join a high-performing engineering team in London.
This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role, focused on building and enhancing modern trading technology. You will work across Kotlin backend services and TypeScript/React frontend applications, contributing to a critical trade store platform within a sophisticated financial markets environment.
The role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys working across the stack and wants to contribute to well-engineered, high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin.
- Build modern, responsive frontend applications using TypeScript and React.
- Develop and integrate APIs supporting trading and financial workflows.
- Work with PostgreSQL to design, query and optimise data storage.
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
- Deliver clean, maintainable and production-ready code.
- Write automated tests and maintain high engineering standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and production issues.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers and stakeholders to deliver new functionality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, tooling and processes.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
Kotlin
- Strong commercial experience developing production applications with Kotlin.
- Solid understanding of modern JVM-based software development.
- Experience designing and building robust backend services.
TypeScript & React
- Strong TypeScript development experience.
- Commercial experience building applications with React.
- Good understanding of frontend architecture, component design and API integration.
PostgreSQL
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of relational database design, SQL and performance considerations.
Nice to have
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Background within banking, investment banking or capital markets.
- Understanding of OTC financial products, such as:
- Options
- Swaps
- Other OTC derivatives
- Experience using Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with strong Kotlin, TypeScript and React experience who can work comfortably across both backend and frontend development.
Financial markets experience would be highly advantageous, particularly exposure to OTC trading and derivatives, but strong engineering capability across the core technology stack is the key requirement.
