Senior Kotlin Software Engineer
Day rate up to £1,200 inside IR-35
This is a hands-on senior engineering role within a high-performing Capital Markets technology team. The new platform operates much like a real-time trading system, supporting approximately 1,000 global users who add and remove orders in real time during a critical ~5-hour execution window.
The platform supports issuances exceeding €1 trillion annually, making reliability, scalability, and correctness absolutely critical. With the foundational services already established, the team is now expanding into key business capabilities including Sales screens, hedge workflows, and allocation processes.

Technical Requirements:
- Exceptional commercial Kotlin engineering experience
- Deep expertise in Event Sourcing / Event-Driven Systems
- Strong understanding of software architecture and distributed systems
- Genuine experience working within XP / Mob Programming environments
- Strong TDD, refactoring, and clean-code discipline
- Experience operating within high-availability production systems
- Excellent communication skills with both technical teams and business users
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders without relying on a communication proxy
