Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Land Manager role based in the East Midlands. The Senior Land Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing residential land opportunities that align with The Owl Group’s development strategy. Day-to-day activities include managing site appraisals, coordinating due diligence, negotiating land acquisitions and option agreements, and preparing business cases for board approval. The role involves close collaboration with planning, technical, commercial, and legal teams, as well as building and maintaining relationships with landowners, agents, local authorities, and other stakeholders. The Senior Land Manager will also monitor market trends, support planning applications, and ensure that land acquisitions meet financial, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

- Experience in land acquisition and management, including site identification, appraisal, and negotiation within residential or mixed-use development.
- Strong understanding of planning policy, development control processes, and local authority procedures in the Midlands region.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with landowners, agents, partners, and public-sector stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, feasibility studies, and preparing robust business cases for land opportunities.
- Effective project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, coordinate multiple sites, and meet deadlines.
- Clear and confident communication skills, including report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of legal aspects of land transactions, including contracts, option agreements, and due diligence processes.
- Previous experience in housebuilding, land promotion, property development, or related fields at a senior level.
- Relevant academic or professional qualifications in real estate, planning, surveying, or a related discipline (e.g., RICS, RTPI) are advantageous.
- Comfort working on-site and traveling within the East Midlands, with a valid driver’s license or equivalent means of travel.
