Location: London and South East England
Salary: £42,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience
Job type: Full-time, permanent

The role

We are looking for an experienced Land and Measured Building Surveyor to join our team, working on varied projects throughout London and the South East.

The successful candidate will independently undertake topographical and measured building surveys, complete laser-scanning work and process survey data through to accurate final drawings and deliverables.

This position would suit an experienced surveyor ready to take ownership of projects and maintain high technical standards from fieldwork through to final issue.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed topographical surveys.
  • Complete measured building surveys, including floor plans, elevations and sections.
  • Carry out 3D laser-scanning surveys.
  • Establish survey control using total stations and GNSS equipment.
  • Process survey and point-cloud data.
  • Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings and survey deliverables.
  • Plan fieldwork and manage projects independently.
  • Check completed work for accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, site teams and colleagues.
  • Follow site health and safety requirements.

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of four years’ relevant surveying experience, ideally five or more.
  • Strong experience in topographical surveying.
  • Strong experience in measured building surveying.
  • Practical experience using 3D laser scanners.
  • Ability to complete projects independently, from fieldwork through to final drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience processing survey data using N4ce.
  • Experience processing point clouds using Leica Cyclone or comparable software.
  • Good understanding of survey control, traversing and levelling.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Relevant qualification in land surveying, geomatics or a related discipline.
