We're Hiring – Senior Land Surveyor / 3D Laser Scanning Specialist
📍 Harpenden, Hertfordshire | Full-Time | Nationwide Travel
At HOUSEBORN Engineering Ltd, we're expanding our team and are looking for an experienced Senior Land Surveyor / 3D Laser Scanning Specialist to help deliver high-quality survey projects across the UK.
We invest in the latest technology and are looking for someone who shares our passion for precision, innovation and delivering exceptional results.
About the Role
You'll be working on a wide variety of projects including:
- Topographical Surveys
- Measured Building Surveys
- Control Networks
- High-Accuracy 3D Laser Scanning
- Drone Survey Support
- Survey data processing and quality assurance
This role involves regular travel throughout the UK and occasional overnight stays.

- Trimble RealWorks
- Autodesk ReCap
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Land Surveyor
- Strong experience with terrestrial and/or mobile laser scanning
- Confident using NavVis MLX, Trimble X9, or equivalent laser scanning systems
- Experience with GNSS and Total Stations
- Good understanding of survey control, coordinate systems and QA procedures
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent communication skills
- A professional attitude and strong attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience processing point clouds
- Scan-to-BIM experience
- Drone survey / photogrammetry experience
- CSCS Card
- Experience mentoring junior surveyors
