Opportunity to join a regulatory body as a Senior Lawyer – Fitness to Practise

This role sits within the FTP legal and social work team which provides advice and advocacy services to the fitness to practise team.

As Senior Lawyer, you will:

  • Work closely with the Head of Triage, supporting efficient and robust decision making at the triage stage.
  • Provide advice and support in case planning and progression at the investigation and hearing stages (as required).
  • Work collaboratively to support the case presenting team and the in-house legal team.
  • Supervise and line manage paralegals and/or lawyers (as required) including reviewing and quality-assuring legal advice.

To be considered

You will be qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executive, or will be registered with, or be eligible to immediately join: the SRA Solicitors’ register, BSB Barristers’ register or CILEX Authorised Practitioners’ directory. You should also have experience of the fitness to practise process and advising on professional regulation, ideally in the context of the regulation of health and/or social care. Experience of line management and/or supervision is desirable.

Details

This is a permanent role, offering a salary of £55,242 per year, rising to £57,644 per year after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period. This role doesn’t require attendance in the office on a regular basis. However, there will be a requirement to be in the office for meetings and training events as required.
