Senior / Lead Automation Engineer – Power Platform & AI

Brighton, East Sussex – Hybrid, 1 day in the office
£60,000 – £72,000

A Senior / Lead Automation Engineer is required to play a leading role in a newly established team within a large, highly regulated organisation undergoing significant digital transformation.

The organisation is building an enterprise-scale automation capability that will deliver a significant portfolio of Power Platform, Copilot and AI-enabled solutions. The focus is not simply on completing individual projects, but on creating reusable assets, mature engineering practices and a scalable delivery model that can support dozens of automation initiatives.

This is a hands-on senior engineering position rather than a traditional management role. You’ll design and deliver complex automation solutions while providing technical direction to other engineers, reviewing code, owning estimates and helping to establish consistent development and delivery standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
