MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation at the heart of Northern Ireland’s energy transition to recruit a Senior Lead Connections & Strategy Analyst.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of Northern Ireland’s transmission network, supporting the delivery of high-voltage customer connections and infrastructure projects while enabling a secure, resilient and low-carbon energy system.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Networks, you will provide senior leadership and specialist expertise in developing and implementing strategic connections policies, working closely with industry stakeholders, customers, and internal teams.

You will play a key role in navigating the complex commercial, contractual, technical and regulatory environment surrounding power system connections, helping to shape policy and strategic decision-making across the organisation.

The Successful Candidate:

  • A university degree in a business, technical, legal or relevant discipline, with at least 5 year's relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the contractual and commercial aspects of the power industry, including connections and key industry stakeholders.
  • Proven commercial awareness and excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong experience working with commercial contracts, with an understanding of their technical, commercial and legal implications.
  • Knowledge of generation, demand and enabling technologies connecting to the power system.
  • A strong understanding of relevant regulations, licences, technical standards, codes and policies relating to transmission systems and connections planning.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and commercial matters to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience producing high-quality, concise reports and presenting recommendations to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong consultation and change management skills, including experience developing communication, culture change and performance measurement strategies.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and complex issues in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • A proven track record of delivering to deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
