Meet the team 👥

Here at Cleo, we have ~70 Data Scientists (Product Analysts) working embedded into our Pillars ✨ They stay connected and share knowledge consistently through monthly meetings and slack channels to scale approaches and ensure everyone learns in the same way. They thrive through clear communication with their squad and stakeholders to influence product or company decisions, being that bridge between the non-tech and technical sides of the team. We have deeply structured data and a great experimentation culture using StatSig for all analysts to dive into!

About The Role ✍️

We're hiring a Senior/Lead Data Scientist, Strategic Finance (FP&A) - the first role dedicated to owning and scaling the automation and intelligence layer within Strategic Finance. Working with the Director of Strategic Finance, Product, Data, Engineering, and the CEO's office, you'll be responsible for:

  • Own and scale the automation and intelligence layer within Strategic Finance, architecting the models, tools, and systems that surface critical insights
  • Build predictive models and decision-support tools driving core financial statements - revenue, gross profit, operating costs, and cashflow
  • Turn one-off strategic analyses into scalable, self-serve tools for scenario planning, LTV modelling, cohort analysis, pricing, and capital allocation
  • Work cross-functionally with Data, Product, and Engineering to define and maintain data models powering executive insight and operational decisioning
  • Automate recurring finance workflows: investor reporting, covenant tracking, performance pacing, and financial close tasks
  • Create intelligent, automated reporting for financial and operational metrics - trading updates, forecast variance analysis, board KPIs, and more
  • Own the architecture for insight delivery - dashboards, semantic layers, and data pipelines underpinning financial and strategic reporting
  • Act as the technical bridge within Strategic Finance, enabling faster decisions through automation and scalable systems
  • Champion data governance and documentation for consistency, trust, and clarity across reporting
  • Start as an IC owning end-to-end systems, with the opportunity to grow into building a team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
