Senior Lead Engineer (Networks), Belfast, Hybrid working
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Power Systems Engineer to take a senior technical role shaping the future of Northern Ireland’s electricity transmission network as Senior Lead Engineer - Networks.
Working at the heart of the energy transition, you will lead complex power system analysis, support major network and connection decisions, and help develop the electricity system for a cleaner, more secure energy future.
This is an opportunity to apply specialist engineering expertise to make a direct impact on the future of Northern Ireland's power system, while supporting colleagues and contributing to the development of technical capability across the team.
As a Senior Lead Engineer in the Networks team, you will lead complex power system analysis, support major network investment and connection decisions, and develop models, analysis tools, and technical recommendations that will directly influence Northern Ireland’s future energy system.

The successful candidate:
- Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in power systems engineering, network or connections planning, or a closely related area to demonstrate the level required for a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of power systems and transmission networks and equipment along with experience of carrying out relevant power systems studies.
- Experience with power system modelling software such as PSS/E, PowerFactory or similar
- Experience using analytical/automation tools such as Python or Excel to analyse engineering data
- Strong technical communication and stakeholder management skills
