Senior Lead - Reporting, Analytics and AI

Make Power for Good

RES is the world's largest independent renewable energy company. Our mission is simple: a future where everyone has access to affordable, zero-carbon energy. The problems we're solving are among the most important of our generation — and the people working on them are extraordinary.

We're growing our data and AI capability and looking for someone who genuinely loves working with data, machine learning, and generative AI and is a data and AI leader, to solve hard business problems. If you want your analytical work to drive real decisions — within a company that's changing the world — this is the role for you.

The Role

Are you ready to shape the future of data-driven decision-making across one of the World’s leading renewable energy businesses? At RES we are driving transformation through the power of data and insights - and we’re looking for a visionary Senior Leader to join our Data and Analytics team - a Data and AI Architect and Platform to lead the way.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable, secure, and future-ready data, AI and analytics products and data models that will serve as the single source of truth for our enterprise. Your mission: to empower teams across the business with reliable, real-time data and insights that drive smarter, faster, and more impactful decisions.

You’ll be a key leader and 2IC for our global Data & AI Analytics function, collaborating with technology and business stakeholders to shape strategy, ensure integration across systems, and champion data modernisation at scale. If you’re passionate about data and AI modelling, reporting, analytics and AI and making data accessible and actionable - we want to hear from you.

You'll own the delivery of analytics and AI products at RES — turning complex data into trusted, governed insight consumed by senior leaders and decision-makers across the business.

This is a hands-on technical role and leadership role with 15+ years of experience required. You'll build data models, reports and analytics and apply LLMs and machine learning to business questions, delivering automation that cuts manual effort and unlocks new insight. You'll focus your energy on dimensional and semantic data modelling, analysis, AI application, and insight delivery — working with modern cloud platforms and data and AI infrastructure.

You will work closely with and lead business stakeholders to understand problems, shape analytical approaches, and land insight in a way that drives action. You'll lead your own working groups and steering committees and present to executive stakeholders with strong negotiating and influencing skills.

You will have leadership and line management junior staff and federated teams, coaching, developing and being the global lead for reporting, analytics and AI. Supporting teams in moving from manual reporting to governed, AI-enabled analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with and lead business stakeholders to understand problems, shape analytical approaches, and land insight in a way that drives action. You'll lead your own working groups and steering committees and present to executive stakeholders with strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Work independently with senior executives, external vendors and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, prioritise, and document business requirements and use cases.
  • Leadership and line management junior staff and federated teams, coaching, developing and being the global lead for reporting, analytics and AI. Supporting teams in moving from manual reporting to governed, AI-enabled analytics.
  • Own the target-state for reporting, analytics and AI, including technical direction. Ensure reporting and analytics is secure, governed, cost-effective, and designed for scalable data products, BI and AI/ML.
  • Lead reporting, analytics and AI decisions, standards and designs, working closely with IT enterprise architecture, engineering, security and vendors to deliver a coherent, supportable platform.
  • Lead the team and external vendors to deliver work to high standards. Coach the IT team, central and regional reporting, analytics and AI staff on best practices and provide global standards and guardrails
  • Deliver reporting, data modelling and advanced analytics across complex business domains — defining, validating, and owning the definitions, metrics and models that drive decisions.
  • Develop comprehensive semantic data models and business intelligence solutions and quality data for consumption by AI tools.
  • Work closely with and lead business stakeholders to understand problems, shape analytical approaches, and land insight in a way that drives action.
  • Apply machine learning, analytics and reporting to real business problems: predictive modelling, classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, and forecasting.
  • Use LLMs and generative AI to build analytical tools, AI-assisted insight products, and intelligent automation — including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Validate all AI and model outputs for accuracy, bias, and reliability before they reach stakeholders.
  • Translate reporting and analytical findings into clear, business-ready insight for senior and executive audiences.
  • Identify and deliver automation opportunities using tools such as Power Platform, Power Automate, or equivalent — reducing manual effort and improving data-driven workflows. Use Python and SQL to clean, model, and analyse data; deliver self-service analytics through governed semantic models and reporting layers. Lead UAT and business validation for analytics outputs and AI products. Support and lead teams in moving from manual reporting to governed, AI-enabled analytics.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
