Senior / Lead SAP Solution Architect – Core Banking (m/f/d)

As Senior / Lead SAP Solution Architect – Core Banking (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of modern banking architectures. You will drive strategic transformation projects, design scalable and future-proof solutions, and advise our clients on the modernization and optimization of their core banking platforms.

Leveraging your deep understanding of core banking and related technology, you will collaborate closely with our customers to define and deliver solutions that enable operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business agility.

With your in-depth process and solution expertise, you are recognized as an expert in your field. You will work hand in hand with stakeholders across business and IT to translate strategic goals into concrete architectures and deliver tangible value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospects, customers, and sales teams to comprehensively understand and anticipate business requirements and transformation challenges in core banking.
  • Utilize your deep industry and technology knowledge to clearly articulate customer needs and solution approaches.
  • Translate complex banking processes into robust, scalable solution designs and architectures based on SAP Fioneer products
  • Lead the design of suitable target architectures and scalable solutions for complex business problems
  • Conduct fit-gap analyses, identify innovation potential, and ensure solution designs align with customers’ strategic and business objectives, also considering regulatory guardrails.
  • Advise customers on the best possible use of SAP Fioneer solutions to achieve business outcomes, e.g., modernization, cost efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.
  • Drive opportunities, transformation projects, and innovation initiatives - acting as a trusted advisor and architectural lead for core banking architecture and solutions.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape product roadmaps and ensure alignment with market needs.
  • Provide coaching to team members and foster a culture of knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Business, Finance, Economics, Physics, Mathematics; MBA or PhD is a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in consulting, banking, or software companies – ideally in solution / enterprise architecture, technology transformation, and/or core banking implementation based on SAP Banking components.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex transformation or modernization programs within commercial and/or retail banking.
  • Deep expertise in core banking domains, such as deposits, lending, account management, product engines, and regulatory processes.
  • Strong understanding of modern banking technology stacks, integration architectures, and cloud transformation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus.
