We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Lead Technician on a Permanent basis to join the team working from our new Inverness service point supporting windfarms including Kilbraur and Burn O'Whilk.

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Inverness

Hours: Our core hours are 37 per week (Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:30pm and Friday 8am till 1pm) with a requirement to work overtime when required. As our Technicians are required to work overtime and on call there is a requirement for successful candidates to live within a radius of up to 1 hour from the windfarm.

How can you make a difference? The Senior Lead Technician role supervises a group of Lead Technicians covering a number of wind farms across the Highlands area, ensuring tasks and works within this region are completed within specified timeframes and to the highest quality standards.

What will you be doing? Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Analysing defects on WTG’s where necessary in communication with LOM / Tech Ops
  • Autonomously making complex repairs on the Turbines
  • Carrying out planned maintenances and Inspection activities
  • Ensuring reports and check lists are prepared so the LOM is informed of site activities
  • Documentation and completion of Snag Lists from Maintenances
  • Training of New Technicians in the area
  • Liaise with Clients and or site Management
  • Project management of Large works
  • Prioritising works to minimise downtime and costs
  • Supervising local teams and vehicles
  • Ensuring any spare part requirements for the area are ordered in a timely manner
  • Management of Subcontractors at site
  • Technical reporting of Major Failures
  • Agreement of the two-week planner with Lead Techs and the Service Coordinator
  • Assessment of Team performance through appraisal system
  • Dealing with any disciplinary issues with support of LOM

What are we looking for? The successful candidate will have proven experience both as a Service Technician and more recently as a Lead Technician. You will be qualified up to at least Level 3 (HNC / ONC) and have completed STTM 1 & 2.

You will have experience of leading and supervising a team and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Other qualities required for this role include:

  • Good planning & Organisational skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Computer literate with the ability to use MS Office, In House Databases and Workload Management Systems

This role will also require the candidate to travel on a regular basis which will also include nights away from home.
