This is an exciting opportunity to join our developing Group Learning, Development & Skills (LDS) service at a significant point in our journey.
As we bring together learning and development across Liverpool University Hospitals Group, we are creating a more joined-up, equitable and evidence-led approach to developing our workforce, ensuring colleagues have the skills and capability needed to deliver excellent care now and in the future.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Learning, Development & Skills Facilitator to help turn this ambition into high-quality learning experiences across our hospitals and services.
Working within the People Effectiveness Centre of Expertise, you will design, develop and deliver engaging learning and capability interventions aligned to national requirements, Group priorities and identified workforce needs.
You will work across organisational and professional boundaries, building strong relationships with managers, People colleagues, education teams and subject matter experts.
We are looking for someone who can bring learning to life – creating inclusive, accessible and evidence-based development that builds capability, supports improvement and makes a measurable difference for our people and services.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate engaging, inclusive and evidence-based learning for a range of audiences
- Use digital, virtual, face-to-face and innovative learning approaches effectively
- Translate learning needs, workforce data and organisational priorities into practical development solutions
- Support implementation of Group-wide learning priorities across hospitals, services and professional groups
- Use data, feedback and evaluation to continuously improve learning and demonstrate impact on capability, behaviour and outcomes
- Build strong relationships and work effectively with managers, subject matter experts and colleagues across organisational boundaries
- Provide professional advice and guidance on learning, development and skills
- Manage multiple priorities with a high degree of autonomy within agreed objectives
- Adapt learning solutions to meet different needs while maintaining Group standards and consistency
- Share expertise, support colleagues and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement across the LDS team

- Aintree University Hospital is the single receiving site for adult major trauma patients in Cheshire and Merseyside, and hosts a number of regional services including an award-winning stroke facility.
- Broadgreen Hospital is home to several elective surgical, diagnostic and treatment services, together with specialist patient rehabilitation.
- Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital provide specialist services in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology and respiratory medicine, both in the hospital and out in the community.
- Liverpool Women’s Hospital specialises in the health of women and babies, delivering over 7,200 babies in the UK’s largest single site maternity hospital each year.
- The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single en-suite bedrooms and mainly focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.
