The role

London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for full-time Senior Lecturer in Mental Health/Learning Disabilities Nursing.

The post will be held by an academic who will carry out educational activities, deliver research, innovation and enterprise, and provide support for the full range of School activities. The appointee will be expected to carry out all core activities in three areas: learning and teaching; research, innovation, enterprise, and professional practice; and administration, management, leadership and citizenship. They will be expected to deliver some higher-level achievements in research, innovation and enterprise of national and potentially international significance in their discipline. The duties and responsibilities outlined are not intended to be an exhaustive list but rather to provide guidance on the main aspects of the post.

We particularly encourage applicants whose Research, Enterprise and Innovation achievements and future plans align with the Fit for Future 10 Year Health Plan, current and emerging NIHR funding priorities, and LSBU’s Research and Innovation Strategy 2030.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A good honours degree.
  • A PhD or an equivalent doctoral level award in a relevant subject.
  • A record of positively enhancing the quality of taught provision, increasing levels of student satisfaction, improving levels of student retention, progression and employability, and/or supporting student enterprise activities.
  • Evidence of the ability to contribute to the enhancement of the College’s research and/or innovation profile.
  • Evidence of nationally and internationally excellent research outputs.
  • A record of successful grant capture and delivery.
  • Evidence of disseminating research at symposia, conferences or to the wider public.
