Kingsley Bond Solicitors is recruiting a Senior Legal Assistant to join our Insolvency and Restructuring team. This is a senior support role with real ownership of how matters are set up and progressed.

The department handles a steady flow of new instructions, each of which needs to be screened, properly opened and kept moving. The successful candidate will take responsibility for that process, working closely with the fee earning team to ensure files are compliant, well organised and progressing to time. The role is one of coordination and matter management rather than financial analysis. You will commission and chase the work that is needed, and know when a file is drifting, but you will not be expected to carry out the analysis yourself.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a long term career in insolvency support work. The role does not lead to a training contract and study funding is not offered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
