Senior Legal Cashier

Harrogate | Full Time | Permanent £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Legal Cashier to join a well-established and highly regarded law firm in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier who is looking to take the next step in their career, working closely with the Finance Director and providing support, guidance and leadership within a collaborative finance team.

The firm offers a genuinely friendly and supportive culture where people are encouraged to develop, build strong working relationships and contribute to the success of the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing client and office account transactions.
  • Managing payments, receipts and transfers in accordance with SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance activities.
  • Assisting the Finance Director with management accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Supervising and supporting other Legal Cashiers within the team.
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, FCA requirements, tax legislation and accounting procedures.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and managing client account reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Producing reports and analysis using Excel.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.

About You:

  • Have proven Legal Cashier experience within a law firm.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Have a solid understanding of legal accounting procedures, compliance and relevant legislation.
  • Are confident using Excel and able to work with financial data effectively.
  • Can support and guide colleagues while maintaining high standards.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Are proactive, hands-on and willing to get stuck in when required.
