Our client is a specialist legal costs consultancy established in 2018, known for delivering a proactive, commercially focused service to claimant law firms across the UK, particularly in complex and high-value litigation. What This Role Really Involves
While the role includes drafting, the expectation is broader. You will:
- Take ownership of complex, high-value matters (often six and seven figures)
- Manage files from inception through to settlement and/or assessment
- Draft detailed bills, Points of Dispute, Replies, and budgets
- Play an active role in negotiation and settlement strategy
- Liaise directly with senior stakeholders and clients
- Contribute to the commercial outcome of cases, not just their preparation
- Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate

What They’re Looking For
This role will suit someone who:
- Has 5+ years’ experience in legal costs (drafting or costs lawyer background)
- Has handled high-value, multi-track matters (particularly CN and PI)
- Is confident running files independently
- Has exposure to negotiation and settlement, but mainly drafting expertise
- Wants to move into a role with greater ownership and commercial involvement

Package & Working Model
- Salary: Up to £55,000 (flexible depending on experience/location)
- Hybrid: Typically, 2 days in-office (London preferred, flexibility for other locations)
