Job Description
Our client is a Fintech in the business banking sector who has had a consistent and impressive growth trajectory for some years now, and this shows no sign of stopping, which is why they are looking to hire a lawyer to join a team of 6 lawyers (including this role) all of whom report to the General Counsel, who sits in the London HQ of the business, in the City.
This team is not ‘pigeon-holed’ into workstreams or practice ‘areas’, but works in a flat-structured, fairly non-hierarchical team on all legal issues affecting the business, such as:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad scope of commercial contracts affecting day-to-day operations and with external partners;
- Supporting the product development team on the structuring of new products;
- Providing advice to the business on banking law and the associated regulatory environment;
- Lending legal expertise to corporate and company objectives, including M&A, international business expansion, employment issues, litigation and data protection, amongst others.

As you can see, this role has exceptional variety and breadth, and as such, we are looking for lawyers who currently sit in a broad legal role, ideally from another fintech or commercial banking business. Wherever you hail from, you must bring prior in-house experience to be considered for this role.
This legal team values candidates who are self-starters and natural problem-solvers: those who can tackle unfamiliar matters with pragmatism and a level head.
