Senior Legal Counsel

As a Senior Legal Counsel within Sky’s Group Product Legal team, you’ll act as a trusted legal adviser and strategic business partner to stakeholders responsible for bringing Sky’s products to market.

Customer products sit at the heart of Sky’s strategy. From the hardware and software that power products such as Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Broadband, Sky Mobile, Sky Home and Sky Protect, to the supply chain, strategic partnerships and compliance frameworks that enable those products to be designed, developed, manufactured, distributed and supported at scale, you’ll advise on some of Sky’s most important customer-facing initiatives.

Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Supply Chain, Product Compliance, Sustainability and Procurement, you’ll deliver high-quality, business-focused legal advice on complex commercial arrangements, product development initiatives, strategic supplier partnerships and regulatory compliance matters.

This role combines commercial contracting with strategic legal and regulatory advice, requiring sound judgement, strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance innovation, customer outcomes and risk management.

This role is based in the UK and offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with legal colleagues across the UK, Italy and Ireland as well as Comcast, supporting customer products and propositions that are developed, launched and operated across multiple markets.

What you’ll do

  • Act as a trusted legal adviser and strategic business partner to senior stakeholders across Product, Technology, Responsible Supply Chain, Product Compliance and Sky Protect, helping deliver Sky’s strategic priorities.
  • Lead the negotiation, drafting and execution of complex commercial, technology, supply chain and strategic supplier agreements with a high degree of autonomy, including arrangements relating to hardware, software, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, insurance and strategic partnerships.
  • Provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice that enables innovation while appropriately managing legal, regulatory and commercial risk across the full product lifecycle, from design and development through manufacture, launch, delivery, installation and in-life support.
  • Support strategic customer product and supply chain initiatives including advising on transformation projects, strategic partnerships and associated legal and regulatory considerations.
  • Advise on product compliance, product safety, environment and sustainability requirements, cyber security, intellectual property, software licensing and other legal obligations affecting customer products and supply chains, including emerging legal and regulatory developments.
  • Lead multiple complex matters simultaneously, exercising sound judgement to prioritise effectively and manage competing stakeholder demands.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Legal department and partner with legal teams across the Sky Group and Comcast to deliver consistent, high-quality legal support.
  • Instruct and manage work undertaken by Sky Legal's managed legal services provider and external counsel to deliver efficient, cost-effective legal support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
