Senior Legal Counsel
I’m working with a leading international data centre business looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to support its growing EMEA operations.
This is a broad role sitting across both construction and operations, supporting major data centre projects through the construction phase and continuing to advise once sites become operational.
About the Role
On the construction side, the role will involve advising on FIDIC and bespoke D&B arrangements, major equipment procurement and supply contracts, contract administration, variations and claims, working closely with the construction, commercial and procurement teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Once sites are operational, the remit extends to the contractual issues associated with running critical infrastructure, including facilities and maintenance arrangements, suppliers, defects, remediation and operational issues.
Requirements
We’re looking for a technically strong construction lawyer who is equally comfortable operating in a fast-paced commercial environment and providing practical advice to the business.
Ideally, you’ll have 6+ years’ PQE, with a strong grounding in non-contentious construction law. A combination of private practice and in-house experience would be particularly attractive, alongside experience working for or closely with a major contractor.
