Compensation: £105,000 – £140,000 per year + Bonus & Equity Options
About the Role:
We are recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel Employment UK on behalf of our client, a leading global food-tech and delivery platform in London. You will serve as the principal legal advisor on UK employment, labor relations, and human resources matters, counseling executive leadership and People teams on complex workforce strategy, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide authoritative legal counsel on all aspects of UK employment law, including employee relations, restructuring, and employment contracts.
- Advise on sensitive executive hires, senior departures, settlement negotiations, and post-termination restrictive covenants.
- Manage employment tribunal litigation, dispute resolutions, and ACAS early conciliation processes alongside external counsel.
- Partner closely with People Operations and Talent teams to draft and modernize workplace policies, staff handbooks, and benefit schemes.
- Oversee legal risks associated with contingent workforce management, IR35 compliance, and contractor engagements.
- Monitor legislative updates in UK labor laws, workplace regulations, and equality legislation, updating internal procedures accordingly.
- Conduct training sessions for HR partners and people managers on disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and performance management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 6+ years of specialized post-qualification experience (PQE) in UK employment law.
- Background gained within a leading employment law practice or in-house legal department of a fast-paced technology or consumer enterprise.
- Extensive experience handling Employment Tribunal claims, settlement agreements, and complex employee relations disputes.
- Pragmatic, commercial approach to legal risk, capable of providing decisive advice under tight deadlines.
- Superior drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal communication capabilities with senior stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B. / LL.M.) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Fluency in English.
