In the UK, Pernod Ricard is made up of 4 businesses:

  • Pernod Ricard UK, which markets, sells and distributes our products in the UK market;
  • Chivas Brothers, the largest brand company in the Group, responsible for the production and management of our award-winning Scotch whisky portfolio;
  • Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, the global and EMEA home of the group’s duty free, air travel and cruises business; and
  • The Absolut Group, the brand owner of our global white spirits portfolio, whose Gin brand unit and Business Acceleration team sit in London.

This position is based at Chivas Brothers.

Your new team

Chivas Brothers is the Pernod Ricard business dedicated to Scotch whisky. Its award-winning portfolio features some of the world’s most revered single malt and blended Scotch whisky brands, including Chivas Regal, Ballantine’s, Royal Salute and The Glenlivet. As the world’s No.2 Scotch whisky producer which exports to 150 markets globally, Chivas Brothers and its 1,700-strong team are rooted in communities across Scotland and around the globe, sharing a proud history and the ambition to open up to shape the future of whisky. Chivas Brothers was awarded ‘Scotch Whisky Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2021 and for six years in a row from 2020-2025 at the International Spirits Challenge.

Your new role

The position is based in our Blythswood Square office, Glasgow and hybrid working is available.

You will:

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of technology and commercial contracts (SaaS, cloud, software licensing, IT services, outsourcing).
  • Work autonomously with stakeholders as part of a busy legal team.
  • Support procurement activities, including RFx processes, supplier selection, and contract award negotiations.
  • Provide legal support on operational matters (procurement, supply chain, supplier disputes) and help resolve contractual issues.
  • Work with our in-house experts to advise on data protection and cybersecurity matters (therefore an understanding of managing data-related risks in supplier contracts is desired).
  • Work with our in-house experts to support AI-related topics.

You will work with the Global Operations & Procurement Legal team, who are based in Glasgow, together with a number of global locations.

You will partner with global stakeholders (Tech, Procurement, Legal) and contribute to regulatory monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if:

  • You are a qualified solicitor in Scots or English law.
  • You have a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial and technology law (law firm and/or in-house), with strong exposure to IT contracts, SaaS and data protection.
  • You have solid experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in an international environment.
  • You are comfortable working with cross-functional and global stakeholders, building strong relationships across teams.
  • You are comfortable working alone on matters, whilst being aware when escalation is required.
  • You are fluent in English, with strong communication skills (French and/or Spanish is a plus but not a requirement).
  • You are curious, agile, and genuinely interested in technology, digital transformation and innovation.
  • You are organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are business-oriented, pragmatic, and able to balance legal risk with operational needs.
