Senior Legal Counsel (Property)

Salary – up to £100,000 per annum, plus Company Car Scheme/Car Allowance
Location – Home-based

As a Senior Legal Counsel at FCC Environment, you will provide expert legal advice and support across a wide range of real estate and property development matters. Working closely with stakeholders across the business and as part of the wider Property Legal team, you'll play a key role in supporting the operational business, strategic land development opportunities, renewable energy projects and complex property transactions.

This vacancy is for a full-time, home-based position.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide range of property-related legal documentation
  • Advising on leases, contracts, options, transfers, licences, easements and wayleaves
  • Supporting the Group Estates Team with property development opportunities
  • Providing legal support on renewable energy projects, including Solar, Energy from Waste, Battery Energy Storage Systems and Landfill Gas developments
  • Advising operational teams on property-related legal matters
  • Advising on tender and procurement-related matters
  • Managing complex legal projects and transactions
  • Instructing and managing external legal advisors where appropriate
  • Providing advice and support on planning, environmental, procurement, permitting and regulatory matters
  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business

What Are We Looking For?

  • UK-qualified Solicitor
  • Extensive experience in real estate property and development work
  • Experience managing complex property transactions and development projects
  • Knowledge of energy projects and grid connection matters would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • A pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
  • The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with colleagues
  • Positive, resilient and adaptable mindset
