Senior Legal Counsel | Commercial & Strategic Projects
West London (Hybrid)

We're seeking a commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join an ambitious UK organisation undergoing significant transformation and growth. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Legal, you'll act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership, supporting complex commercial initiatives, major supplier arrangements, technology projects and strategic business decisions.

This is a highly visible role where you'll operate as a genuine business partner, working closely with Executive stakeholders to balance commercial opportunity with effective risk management.

The Role

You'll take ownership of high-value commercial matters across a diverse and complex organisation, including:

  • Leading negotiations on strategic commercial contracts and supplier arrangements
  • Advising senior leadership on risk allocation, liability, governance and commercial structuring
  • Supporting major technology, digital transformation, AI and outsourcing initiatives
  • Partnering with Procurement and business leaders on commercially critical projects
  • Presenting legal risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Driving legal innovation, process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Contributing across a broad range of legal issues, with exposure far beyond traditional commercial contracting

This opportunity is best suited to a lawyer who is already operating at a senior level within an in-house legal team and is comfortable influencing stakeholders across a large, matrix organisation.

Key requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with significant post-qualification experience
  • Strong in-house commercial legal experience
  • Proven track record negotiating and leading complex commercial agreements
  • Experience supporting technology, IT, outsourcing, procurement or digital transformation projects
  • Ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Experience balancing legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment
