Key Responsibilities of the Senior Legal Project Manager
- Lead complex legal matters: Manage complex legal projects from mobilization through to completion, ensuring effective planning, resource management, budget control, and successful delivery throughout the matter lifecycle.
- Develop and lead the team: Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and line management to Legal Project Managers, supporting their development while helping to grow and strengthen the wider function.
- Drive strategic initiatives: Support the delivery of the Legal Project Management strategy by implementing improvement initiatives, expanding the team's reach across the firm, and championing best practice.
- Enhance client delivery: Work closely with legal teams, finance, business development, innovation, and clients to improve collaboration, mitigate project risks, and deliver consistently high standards of service.
- Promote continuous improvement: Develop project management methodologies, tools, and training, contribute to business development activities, and help raise the profile of Legal Project Management internally and externally.

Skills & Attributes of the Senior Legal Project Manager
- Legal project management expertise: Proven experience leading complex legal projects within a law firm or professional services environment, with an in-depth understanding of legal project management methodologies.
- Leadership and stakeholder management: Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, influence, and build trusted relationships with partners, clients, and senior stakeholders across the business.
- Commercial and strategic mindset: Able to balance operational delivery with strategic planning, bringing commercial awareness and contributing to the ongoing development of the Legal Project Management function.
- Excellent communication skills: Confident communicating complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences, with strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building abilities.
- Problem-solving and continuous improvement: A proactive approach to identifying risks, improving processes, and embracing innovation, supported by excellent attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
