At Burges Salmon, you will play a central role in evolving our approach to project delivery, mentoring others, and driving transformation across the firm.

Your Role

As a Senior Legal Project Manager, you will manage complex legal matters end-to-end while supporting the strategic development and direction of our Legal Project Management (LPM) team. You'll work closely with the Head of Legal Project Management and collaborate widely across departments, from Innovation and Technology to key partners and clients.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will combine strong project management expertise, leadership capability, legal understanding and a collaborative approach to support lawyers, clients and internal teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing leadership, mentoring and development support to Legal Project Managers.
  • Supporting the LPM Manager with strategic planning, service positioning and departmental growth.
  • Embedding continuous improvement and championing best practice in matter delivery.
  • Working with Innovation and Legal Technology teams to integrate tools that enhance transparency, efficiency and client experience.

  • Acting as a trusted adviser to lawyers and stakeholders on LPM methodologies, tools and reporting.
  • Mitigating risks and maintaining clear, consistent communication across teams.
  • Supporting the growth and visibility of LPM across new departments.
  • Developing training to upskill lawyers in structured, effective matter management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
