Senior Legal Services Adviser and Data Protection Lead
Salary: £43,185 - £45,647 per annum
Hours: 37, Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Closing Date: Friday 25th September 2026
Interview Date: Thursday 8 October 2026 from 1.30pm onwards
Aims of Job/Job Purpose
The postholder will provide specialist legal advice and operational leadership to the College on data protection, information governance, contracts, procurement, and associated legal matters. Lead the operational delivery of the College's data protection and information governance framework, supporting the College's Data Protection Officer and acting as Deputy DPO where required. Address Freedom of Information legislation, and wider information governance requirements.
The postholder will lead on the review, drafting, negotiation, and management of a wide range of commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and procurement documentation, ensuring that legal, financial, and reputational risks are effectively managed.
In addition, the postholder will act as Deputy Governance Professional, supporting the Corporation and its Committees in the effective discharge of their statutory and regulatory responsibilities.
The postholder will provide leadership and management to the Legal Services Administrator, ensuring the effective delivery of administrative, contractual, data protection support services.
