Information & Library Services (I&LS) Department

The Information & Library Services (I&LS) department offers an exemplary and well-regarded service to members of Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) and the wider University of Cambridge community. As well as traditional library lending services, the team engages in regular classroom teaching and student project support to meet the demanding needs of high-fee-paying users, as well as a whole raft of other innovative services.

Role Description

The role-holder is one of three front-line staff members who divide their time between answering user enquiries, maintaining the printed and electronic collections, contributing to user education initiatives/training sessions, and developing expertise in the use of a wide range of business databases and business information in general.

Ideal Role Holder Skills

  • A strong customer-focused attitude.
  • A willingness to adapt and respond creatively to situations as they arise.
  • A good general education, at least to A-level standard.
  • Experience working in a library or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • A keen user of social media channels.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of standard Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks accurately.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.

This post is fixed term for 2 years, and applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on a secondment basis from their current role in the University.
