Senior Light Ends Trader

London or Geneva

A leading energy trading business is looking to connect with experienced Light Ends Traders for a senior opportunity within its oil trading platform.

The role is suited to an established trader with a strong track record across the light ends complex, with the opportunity to take significant ownership of trading activity and develop an existing book.

The Role

  • Trade across the light ends complex, with exposure potentially including gasoline, naphtha, LPG and related products
  • Identify and execute opportunities across physical and paper markets
  • Develop views through fundamental analysis, market flows and physical market intelligence
  • Manage trading risk and contribute directly to P&L generation
  • Build and maintain relationships across the physical market
  • Work closely with analysts, originators, brokers and other traders to identify opportunities
  • Contribute to the continued development of the wider oil trading platform

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience trading light ends / refined products
  • Strong understanding of physical oil markets and associated paper markets
  • Demonstrable trading track record and P&L responsibility
  • Strong understanding of market fundamentals, flows and pricing
  • Established network across the relevant physical and financial markets
  • Comfortable taking ownership of trading decisions and managing risk independently
  • Entrepreneurial and commercially minded approach
