Senior Solicitor – Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Our client is a specialist property litigation practice with a sharp focus on residential landlord and tenant work and they're looking for a Senior Solicitor who's ready to step up and lead. If you've got the technical depth to run a complex, varied caseload and the leadership instinct to bring a team with you, this is a role built for you.
The Role
This isn't a desk buried in files. You'll run your own caseload of service charge, ground rent and possession matters through the County Court and First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber), while providing the strategic guidance that keeps a team of solicitors and paralegals performing at their best. Expect variety, pace, and real ownership from advising on breach of covenant disputes to shaping how junior colleagues develop their skills.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a team of solicitors and paralegals, with real accountability for delegation and performance
- Handling defended service charge, ground rent and possession matters (residential and commercial) independently and proactively
- Advising on breach of covenant matters and the full spectrum of landlord and tenant queries
- Reviewing claims, weighing up the merits of defences and counterclaims, and guiding clients through it
- Keeping cases moving to court and tribunal deadlines without compromising on quality
- Training and developing junior team members
- Reporting clearly and regularly to clients throughout their cases
- Contributing to the firm's profile through legal articles and thought leadership
- Getting involved in business development that showcases the firm's expertise

What You'll Bring
Essential:
- 5+ years PQE with hands-on experience in service charges and ground rent debt recovery (residential and commercial) — though exceptional candidates with less experience are welcome to apply
- A track record of managing and leading a team, with a genuine interest in developing the people in it
- The organisational discipline to work independently under pressure without losing your eye for detail
- Communication skills that build trust — with clients, your team, and everyone in between

Desirable:
- Experience in commercial property litigation and broader landlord and tenant matters
- A history of training or mentoring junior staff
