A leading international energy business with a growing LNG trading and shipping platform is looking to hire a Senior LNG Operator to join its London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious LNG operations professional to join a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment, working closely with Operations, Chartering, and Trading teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially optimized execution of LNG voyages.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing voyage and cargo operations, covering the full operational lifecycle from voyage planning through to post-fixture reconciliation and claims.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting voyage planning and issuing voyage orders in line with Trading and Chartering requirements.
- Monitoring LNG voyages across both laden and ballast legs, ensuring compliance with charter party terms and operational plans.
- Coordinating with vessels, terminals, port agents, and service providers across loading, discharge, berthing, and port clearance activities.
- Monitoring voyage performance, including boil-off gas, fuel consumption, and onboard LNG inventory, escalating operational issues where required.
- Supporting bunker planning, procurement, and delivery in line with voyage schedules and fuel strategies.
- Managing end-to-end LNG cargo operations across FOB and DES contracts and TCP terms.
- Preparing and reviewing key cargo and shipping documentation, including bills of lading, certificates, Statements of Facts, delivery/redelivery certificates, LOIs, and reconciliation files.
- Managing operational nominations and monitoring contractual obligations across LNG purchase and sales contracts.
- Working closely with Buyers, Sellers, Owners, Charterers, Trading, Legal, Finance, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful cargo execution.
- Supporting end-of-hire reconciliation, demurrage, and other claims, including gathering supporting documentation and working with relevant teams towards resolution.
- Maintaining accurate ETRM updates and operational reporting.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of operational processes, controls, and reporting.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- 3+ years' experience in LNG, tanker operations, voyage execution, or a related shipping environment.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation, voyage operations, and charter party terms.
- Experience with LNG operations would be highly advantageous, particularly FOB/DES cargoes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-moving trading environment.
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience with ETRM systems would be beneficial.
- Exposure to Python, VBA, or Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential.
