Based in London
Due to exciting business growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a boutique property lending group based in London, focussed on funding high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. They are seeking a Senior Loan Administrator to join a team within the Loans Administration department, reporting directly to the Operations Director. This is a pivotal position, separate from the front office, responsible for the implementation, documentation and control of bespoke property development loans. You will manage the entire loan lifecycle, ensuring precision and compliance at every stage. Please note, development finance experience is essential
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Loan Administrator
- Loan Lifecycle Management: Manage the implementation, documentation and control of approved loan facilities from start to finish.
- Drawdown Oversight: Review Quantity Surveyor (QS) reports, verify stage payment certificates and draw up stage payments for approval. Assist with preparing land advances for authorisation.
- Pre-Completion Checks: Ensure all terms and conditions of loan offers are met before completion, with borrower files fully updated and maintained.
- Third-Party Coordination: Instruct solicitors to complete and perfect security, and external surveyors for valuations and ongoing monitoring. Manage professional relationships with third parties throughout the life of each loan.
- Security Documentation: Prepare security and release documents for execution, and agree security release procedures for each loan with the loan manager.
- Phoebus System & Reconciliations: Open new loan accounts, process amendments and post credits, debits and fees. Reconcile company bank accounts with borrower loan accounts.

- Redemptions & Collections: Prepare loan redemption statements, check outgoing monthly loan statements and assist with collecting unpaid interest and capital charges.
- Reporting & Audit: Produce monthly management information (MI), prepare audit enquiry letters and manage the departmental diary.
- Quality Control: Check payments, redemption statements and MI prepared by colleagues.

Iâm in my final year doing Economics and I donât know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer â it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donât need a masters. Letâs look at the ones youâd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
