Senior Loan Analyst, Loan Administration and Servicing

Location: London

About the Role

CBRE Loan Services is seeking a Senior Loan Analyst for its London office. The successful candidate will play a key role in the administration and servicing of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans across the UK and Continental Europe. In addition to managing complex loan servicing activities, the Senior Loan Analyst will provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality service standards.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the servicing and administration of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans across the UK and Continental Europe, ensuring compliance with loan agreements and servicing standards.
  • Support team leadership by coordinating and reviewing the work of junior team members, assisting with training initiatives, and promoting best practices across the loan administration function.
  • Monitor loan performance and identify potential issues, escalating risks and exceptions to Asset Managers and senior stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Lead the onboarding and setup of new loan transactions within servicing systems, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain the integrity of loan records, servicing systems, and documentation repositories.
  • Review and interpret loan documentation to ensure accurate administration of key loan provisions.
  • Calculate and review borrower obligations, including interest, fees, principal repayments, and other financial obligations in accordance with loan agreements.
  • Set and validate interest periods and applicable benchmark/reference rates.
  • Execute and oversee payment instructions and cash waterfalls, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of funds.
  • Support loan amendments, restructurings, consents, waivers, and other transaction-related activities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Asset Managers, Borrowers, Lenders, Auditors, and external service providers.
  • Lead responses to borrower, lender, and auditor queries, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, controls, and service delivery.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior analysts and support knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Assist management with reporting, portfolio reviews, and special projects as required.

What You'll Need

  • Degree in Finance, Banking, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in loan servicing, loan administration, commercial real estate finance, banking operations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate loan documentation and servicing processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience managing large datasets and working across multiple systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines, particularly during peak periods.
