Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Paediatric Epilepsy
About the Role
Applications are invited for a Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Paediatric Epilepsy based at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital (RMCH). The successful candidate will join a vibrant and dynamic paediatric neurology department composed of 11 Consultant Paediatric Neurologists.
The Manchester Paediatric Neurology Service provides tertiary level care for children with neurological disorders throughout the North West of England. This is achieved through:
- A region-wide PICU retrieval service for acute emergencies.
- A dedicated paediatric neuroscience inpatient facility on ward 78.
- Outpatient services provided at RMCH.
- A network of outreach clinics across the region.
This post is ideally suited to a locally employed doctor wanting to work within a busy complex epilepsy service with:
- A comprehensive range of epilepsy treatments and specialised clinics.
- A busy neurophysiology department.
- RMCH being one of four nationally commissioned Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service centres, in partnership with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
There are numerous opportunities to contribute to teaching and education as well as research and audit. The post-holder will build on experience within paediatric epilepsy, including complex epilepsy services such as:
