Paediatric Spinal Surgery Department

The paediatric Spinal Surgery Department provides a secondary service, together with a busy tertiary service which forms a large proportion of our workload. We have specialist services for neuromuscular scoliosis, neurofibromatosis, and metabolic disorders, some of which are internationally recognised. We are the only paediatric spinal surgery provider for Greater Manchester and we provide neuromuscular and metabolic services to a much larger area.

Tertiary Paediatric Spinal Services

Tertiary paediatric spinal services include those for children with neuro-muscular, syndromic, congenital, and idiopathic scoliosis along with all routine spinal conditions in children.

Multidisciplinary Team

The paediatric spinal surgeons comprise part of a multidisciplinary team which also includes Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists.

Role Requirements

Due to the short-term nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold a current registration with the GMC at the time of application, whether it be an active licence, ceased licence, or a pending application - MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for vacancies less than 12 months fixed term. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
