Senior Machine Learning Engineer
Manchester

We’re working with one of the world’s leading entertainment and streaming brands, who have built an exceptional engineering and machine learning team in Manchester. Their platforms reach millions of customers globally, and they’re now looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the next generation of personalisation, recommendations and intelligent decisioning.
As a Senior ML Engineer, you’ll be working on genuinely high-impact machine learning problems at massive scale, developing production ML systems that improve customer experiences, content relevance, advertising and marketing performance.
You’ll be highly autonomous while collaborating with talented engineers, data scientists, product teams and commercial stakeholders across the business.
What you’ll be doing as their Senior Machine Learning Engineer:
- Design, build and deploy machine learning models powering personalisation and recommendation experiences at global scale.
- Develop solutions across recommendation systems, optimisation, predictive modelling and reinforcement learning.
- Build scalable ML pipelines, from feature engineering and model training through to deployment and monitoring.
- Develop real-time and batch inference systems, handling large volumes of data with low-latency requirements.
- Work with distributed computing technologies to solve complex scalability and performance challenges.
- Experiment with new modelling approaches, evaluate results and continuously improve model performance.
- Partner closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers and Product teams to take ML solutions from concept into production.
- Help shape best practices around ML infrastructure, model deployment, testing and monitoring.

Tech-wise, you’ll be a superstar in:
- Python and/or Java
- Machine Learning / Deep Learning
- Recommendation Systems / Personalisation
- Spark / Spark MLlib
- Ray, TensorFlow or similar ML frameworks
- Distributed computing and large-scale data processing
- Real-time model scoring and inference
- Production ML, including deployment and monitoring
- Statistical modelling, experimentation and optimisation
