Job Title & About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, with expertise in deep learning, to join our cross-functional Outfits Discovery team.

In role, you will:

  • Serve as a senior individual contributor (IC), productionising machine learning systems that help customers discover and shop full outfits aligned with their personal style and fashion trends.
  • Elevate the fashion experience through high-scale ML capabilities across millions of products and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to build and enhance our causal algorithms for pricing and customer targeting.
  • Partner closely with data scientists to implement large-scale solutions, delivering measurable business impact.
  • Deploy batch and online ML models at high scale, optimising for performance and reliability.
  • Continuously improve code and technology, driving the conception of new features.
  • Support junior team members through mentoring and coaching, fostering their professional growth.
  • Shape the team’s technical direction, establish ML standards, and champion quality engineering across ASOS’s ML community.

Requirements & Qualifications

About You:

  • Professional expertise in deep learning with hands-on production experience.
  • Proficient in deep learning frameworks and distributed computing for scaling large-scale ML models.
  • Ability to set up, manage, and optimise multi-instance clusters (GPU clusters), demonstrating mastery of data parallelism/DMP.
  • Strong grasp of ML Ops principles, including data pipelines, CI/CD, containerisation, and observability.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring 1–2 junior engineers.
  • Willingness to contribute to broader engineering initiatives at ASOS.
