Anson McCade is delighted to be supporting a leading AI and technology-driven organisation in the search for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team at the forefront of AI innovation, helping clients solve complex business challenges through the design, development and deployment of scalable machine learning solutions.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, leading engineering decisions, and delivering production-grade ML systems that operate at scale. This position combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and client engagement, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

The Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will:

  • Lead technical discovery, solution design, and architectural decisions for complex machine learning initiatives.
  • Design, build, and deploy scalable, production-ready ML applications, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Establish engineering best practices and standards for machine learning deployment across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, product teams, and commercial stakeholders to deliver impactful AI solutions.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for clients, translating sophisticated technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to the growth of the engineering team and technical culture.
  • Drive innovation across AI and machine learning projects, ensuring solutions meet both operational and ethical standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience across the full machine learning lifecycle, from model development to deployment and monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience operationalising models using frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with expert-level Python development skills.
  • Experience building scalable, maintainable, and reusable software systems.
  • Strong cloud engineering experience across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including architecture, security, and infrastructure considerations.
  • Proven experience using Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications in production environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced and high-growth organisations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
