Machinery & Business Assets Valuer – Remote Based

UK-wide | Hybrid / Remote | Senior Advisory Opportunity

I’m currently working with a well-established national business who are seeking to hire into their specialist valuation and advisory team, by appointing an experienced Machinery & Business Assets Valuer.

This opportunity would suit a professional who holds RICS or NAVA-qualified professional with a strong track record across machinery, plant, equipment and wider business asset valuations, particularly those involving complex or high-value instructions.

The role offers considerable independence, with the infrastructure and specialist operational support required to allow senior valuers to concentrate on what they do best: providing expert advice, exercising commercial judgement and delivering strong client outcomes.

The opportunity

  • Senior-level position with genuine autonomy and influence.
  • Flexible hybrid or fully remote working arrangements.
  • Competitive package
    • Opportunity to take ownership of complex instructions from initial engagement through to completion.
    • Access to an established national platform and specialist support infrastructure.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A more efficient way to deliver valuations

A key attraction of the role is the separation of specialist valuation expertise from the operational demands that can often consume senior professionals' time. Dedicated internal teams take responsibility for areas such as:

  • Asset collection and logistics.
  • Buyer and trade engagement.
  • Marketing and commercial promotion.
  • Lotting and sale preparation.
  • Auction and transactional execution.

This enables senior valuers to remain focused on technical quality, client relationships, commercial advice and professional judgement, rather than day-to-day operational administration.

The wider platform

The business has an extensive UK presence, a substantial commercial asset network and access to a large established buyer community. This provides valuers with access to current transactional evidence and real-world market intelligence, supporting informed and defensible valuation advice across a broad range of machinery and business assets.

Who I'm keen to speak with

I'm particularly interested in hearing from senior level valuers who:

  • Hold RICS or NAVA qualifications.
  • Circa 10+ years practical experience valuing machinery, plant, equipment or business assets.
  • Are comfortable leading complex and commercially sensitive instructions.
  • Have strong client-facing and advisory capabilities.
  • Want greater autonomy without having to build the operational infrastructure around themselves.

So, if you're an experienced valuer considering your next senior move, I'd be happy to have a confidential conversation and provide further details. Contact (the businesses retained recruitment consultant), Nathan Wakelam of Macdonald & Company on T: 0161 607 5089 or email nwakelam@macdonaldandcompany.com.
