About the Company

We are a leading flexible workspace provider with a portfolio of premium serviced offices across Central London. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional environments and first-class service to our members. We're looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to ensure our buildings remain safe, fully operational and presented to the highest standard.

The Role

As Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of multiple serviced office locations across Central London. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to reactive issues and work closely with Operations, Community and Facilities teams to ensure an exceptional experience for our members. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in high standards and is comfortable working in fast-paced, customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Planned Maintenance

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across multiple office locations.
  • Complete routine inspections of building fabric, plant and equipment.
  • Ensure statutory compliance checks are completed and accurately recorded.
  • Maintain maintenance schedules and asset records.

Reactive Maintenance

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from building teams.
  • Diagnose and repair faults including:
    • Basic electrical issues (lighting, sockets, switches)
    • Plumbing repairs (taps, toilets, leaks, blockages)
    • HVAC troubleshooting and basic maintenance
    • Carpentry and joinery repairs
    • Decorating and general building fabric repairs
  • Escalate specialist works where required.

Contractor Management

  • Coordinate external contractors for specialist repairs and servicing.
  • Ensure contractors comply with health & safety policies.
  • Monitor quality of completed works and obtain sign-off.

Health & Safety

  • Support compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Report hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with fire safety inspections and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed at all times.

Customer Service

  • Build positive relationships with members and colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly regarding maintenance works and expected timescales.
  • Minimise disruption to occupied office spaces.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and approach at all times.

General Duties

  • Support office moves, meeting room reconfigurations and furniture installations.
  • Assist with small refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain stock levels of maintenance materials and consumables.
  • Participate in an on-call rota if required.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Building Maintenance or Facilities Maintenance role.
  • Experience working within commercial offices, serviced offices, hospitality, hotels or high-end residential environments.
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Electrical maintenance
    • Plumbing
    • General building fabric
    • Carpentry
    • Basic HVAC systems
  • Excellent fault-finding skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.

Desirable

  • City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services.
  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • PAT Testing certification.
  • IOSH Working Safely.
  • Experience using CAFM or maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance within commercial buildings.
