Contract: Full time – Permanent

Location: Pyms Lane, Crewe, CW1 3PL

Purpose of the Role

Join the Maintenance team as a Senior Maintenance Technician where you'll be responsible to maintain and improve equipment reliability enabling targets in output and quality to be met whilst working within Bentley operating Policies and Safety framework, and play a pivotal role in Bentley's goals and Beyond100+ strategy. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager your main responsibilities include;

  • Leading major complex problem solving activities ensuring a safe, timely and structured approach is used and that appropriate escalation and communication processes are adhered too.
  • Resolving maintenance breakdowns using in depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, control equipment, PLC and robotic programming systems.
  • Carrying out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Working to safe practices as set out in the safety framework reporting any accidents or near misses to the relevant supervision.
  • Ensuring any Maintenance activity does not place any other colleague / contractor / visitor at risk from their actions or omissions.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities including generating Equipment Top Issues pareto for the technology. Utilises data to ensure RCA problem solving tools are being used to contain, resolve and ultimately eliminate the root causes preventing reoccurrence.
  • Working cross functionally in the delivery of new equipment to site ensuring the department is set up to be self-sufficient from SOP and that the equipment is robust.

About the Team

The Assembly Production Maintenance team, is responsible for the technical availability and uptime of the equipment including continuous improvement within Manufacturing. This is achieved through collaboration with key stakeholders within Bentley and the wider VW group. As part of a dynamic, manufacturing team, you will innovate, develop and lead manufacturing activities cross functionally and be part of the industry 4.0 digitalisation journey.

We will lead the way into our newest and largest Future Factory here at our Crewe Campus and we will provide training across multiple OEM assets.

About you – Skills and Experience

  • High level of experience within a Maintenance/Facilities environment
  • Accredited Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, HNC preferred
  • Project management and contractor control experience
  • Able to generate effective reports following significant breakdowns
  • Works as part of a team with a strong customer focus and good communication skills (liaising with teams, coordinators, managers, and senior managers)
  • PC literate
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLC’s and Robotics, and production line equipment (fluid fill equipment, drives & motors, pneumatic assistors, high bay storage systems, SCA systems)
  • Specialist training (control/automation, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.) and has/prepared to attain IOSH, SMSTS, NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety
