LSL Property Services plc is one of the UK’s leading providers of services to the property industry, bringing together a range of businesses and expertise across the residential surveying, estate agency and financial services markets. We are bringing together finance activities from across the Group into a central Finance Hub in Newcastle, creating more consistent ways of working and strengthening our finance operations. As part of this centralisation, we're looking for an experienced and qualified Senior Management Accountant to join our growing finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of management accounting, financial reporting, financial controls, and stakeholder partnership.
You'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, maintaining robust financial controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Main Accountability
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
- Deliver high-quality management accounts and financial reporting packs.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the business.

Management Accounting & Analysis
- Produce monthly management accounts with insightful commentary.
- Deliver detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Provide meaningful financial insights to support business performance.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify risks and opportunities.
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain a strong governance and control framework.
- Support external and internal audit activities.
Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with Finance Directors and operational stakeholders.
- Provide financial guidance and challenge to support decision-making.
- Present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting.
- Support systems enhancements and finance transformation initiatives.
- Drive efficiencies and best practice across the finance function.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant role.
- Strong understanding of management accounting, financial controls, and reporting.
- Experience leading month-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial analysis experience.
- Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.

Desirable
- Experience within a multi-entity or group environment.
- Knowledge of UK VAT, Corporation Tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with Sun Financials and Proactis.
- Experience of process improvement or finance transformation projects.
- Understanding of governance, risk, and control frameworks.
