Senior Management Accountant

Core3 is delighted to be working with an established organisation to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team in South Gloucester.

Why join our client

Are you a Management Accountant who is ready for the next step in your career, but hasn't yet had the opportunity to manage people?

This is an opportunity to change that. As Senior Management Accountant, you'll build on your existing management accounting experience while taking on your first formal line management responsibilities, supporting and developing a small team of accountants and assistant accountants.

You do not need previous line management experience. The focus is on finding someone with a strong accounting foundation who is ready to take more ownership and wants to develop their people management and leadership skills.

How you'll make an impact

  • Take ownership of monthly management accounts across your assigned areas
  • Lead key elements of the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and identify and resolve financial risks
  • Investigate complex accounting queries and provide practical solutions
  • Maintain strong financial controls and consistent accounting processes
  • Build trusted relationships with finance and operational stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Monitor workloads and help the team deliver against key deadlines
  • Provide day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to accountants and assistant accountants
  • Develop your own line management skills while supporting the performance and progression of others

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
