Senior Management Accountant
Location: London
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits
Job Type: Full Time | Permanent
Kin Vet are looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, delivering insightful financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Working closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, improving financial processes, and providing the analysis needed to drive business performance.
The Role:
As Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing high-quality management accounts while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.
- Prepare detailed profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and commentary to senior management.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
- Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
- Business partner with operational managers to support commercial decision-making.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Support statutory audits and year-end accounts preparation.
- Review and improve financial controls and accounting processes.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Mentor and support junior members of the finance team where required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Contribute to finance projects, system improvements, and process automation initiatives.

About You:
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent commercial awareness.
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be qualified by experience).
- Significant experience in a Senior Management Accountant role.
- Strong understanding of management reporting and financial analysis.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience using ERP or finance systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Experience with business partnering and supporting operational teams.
- Knowledge of Power BI or financial reporting tools.
- Experience improving financial processes and controls.
