Senior Management Accountant
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Benefits

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and entrepreneurial group of businesses with operations spanning multiple sectors. Having experienced significant expansion in recent years, the organisation is investing heavily in strengthening its internal finance function and is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in that journey. Working closely with business owners and senior leadership, you will become a key member of the finance team, helping to build scalable processes, improve reporting and provide meaningful financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
Your new role
As Management Accountant, you will take ownership of the finance function across multiple entities within the group. This is a broad and hands-on position, offering significant autonomy and exposure to senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts across multiple companies
- Preparing profit and loss accounts, balance sheets and supporting reconciliations
- Managing month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and journals
- Producing cash flow forecasts, budgets and working capital analysis
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying trends, risks and opportunities
- Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable and debtor controls
- Managing VAT returns, PAYE requirements and statutory compliance obligations
- Supporting stock accounting, margin analysis and financial controls
- Managing intercompany transactions and balances
- Leading and developing transactional finance processes
- Presenting financial information and commercial insights to senior management
- Driving process improvements and helping establish a best-in-class internal finance function
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or possess significant relevant accounting experience.

You will also bring:
- Proven experience producing management accounts from start to finish
- Strong month-end, balance sheet and financial reporting expertise
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections
- Excellent understanding of VAT, PAYE and general business accounting requirements
- Previous experience supervising or supporting finance team members
- Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge, ideally including Xero experience working across multiple companies or group structures
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent organisational skills
- Experience within a multi-entity, stock holding, distribution, project-based or SME environment would be highly advantageous.
